Google and Amazon unveil new smart devices, get approval from FCC ahead of launch
A new wireless device from tech giant Google has received clearance from the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It is speculated to be the newest member of the Google Nest family. On the other hand, a product from Amazon was also spotted on the same certification site. It appears to be the new version of the Echo Studio Smart Speaker.
As reported by 9to5Google, the model number of Google’s new device on the certification site is G28DR. It will be a “wireless device”. Again it will have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. However, it is not known from the listing whether it will support NFC or UWB.
The report also states that the new device will come with a 3.5V battery. It is also expected that the new wireless device will feature a USB Type-C port for charging.
On the other hand, Amazon has also included a device in the US certification site. It could be the new version of the Echo Studio smart speaker. However, nothing is known about the product from the FCC.
